Police Respond to Morning Shooting Call
At 8:05 a.m. on July 7, Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) officers responded to a call about a shooting at a residence on Cain Drive. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Senior Officer Antonio Contreras stated in a department news release that officers found the victim inside the home.
First responders swiftly took the victim to a local hospital. Although medical teams tried to save him, the man passed away from his injuries shortly after arrival, police said.
Suspect Apprehended Shortly After Incident
Although the alleged shooter fled the scene before officers arrived, police swiftly began their search. Shortly afterward, they located the individual believed to be responsible and brought him to the department for questioning.
