Lee Yeager, the head coach of Veterans Memorial’s baseball team, expressed his enthusiasm, likening the first day of practice to Christmas for young athletes. However, he quickly reminded the team that past achievements wouldn’t guarantee future success. The Eagles had experienced a setback in the second round of playoffs last year, and this season, they were determined to go further, starting with a more robust defense.
