Priscilla Carlisle, a long-time friend of the Harris family, has been particularly active in the search efforts. Having known Caleb since childhood, Carlisle’s connection to the family runs deep, marked by shared memories and significant life events. The news of Caleb’s disappearance struck her hard. “My daughter Ellie called me, and the moment she said Caleb was missing, I was in disbelief,” Carlisle recounted, reflecting on the shock and confusion that gripped her upon hearing the news.
Without hesitation, the Carlisles went to Corpus Christi to join the search. Carlisle described their exhaustive efforts: “We’ve been shaking bushes, checking ditches, and looking in tunnels. Even when driving, I scan wooded areas, paying attention to details I normally overlook.”
With the Harris family’s blessing, Carlisle created a Facebook group to coordinate search efforts and disseminate accurate information. This initiative aimed to plan search efforts and post important updates, distinguishing itself from other unverified pages and spreading inaccurate information, false predictions, and conspiracies about the Harris family. “It’s crucial to vet the information being circulated to ensure accuracy,” Carlisle emphasized.
To support the family and those involved in the search, close friends set up two GoFundMe pages. Despite Caleb’s continued absence, Carlisle shared that the Harris family remains hopeful, drawing strength from the support of law enforcement and the community in their efforts to bring Caleb home.
Carlisle appealed to the community’s sense of solidarity, urging everyone to contribute in any way possible. “Imagine if it were your son. You’d want all the help you could get,” she implored. “We ask anyone with surveillance equipment to review their footage, as we know Caleb was on the move and not confined to a single location.”
While new leads have been scarce, the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) reassures the public of its unwavering commitment to the search. Despite the investigation becoming less visible over time, the intensity and dedication of the police force remain steadfast. Detectives have been interviewing potential witnesses in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and New Braunfels. They tirelessly follow up on tips and leads, hoping to find Caleb.
The CCPD also issued a reminder regarding the proliferation of unverified Facebook groups discussing Caleb’s case, such as “Missing Caleb Harris Case Discussion” and “Where is Caleb Harris~Vanished.” To directly support the Harris family’s search efforts, Carlisle has recommended contributing to the following verified GoFundMe pages: “Help Find Caleb Harris” and “Please help us bring Caleb Harris home.”
As the search for Caleb Harris continues, the unity and perseverance of the community highlight a collective determination to solve the mystery of his disappearance and bring him home safely.
