Life on the Farm: Passion Beyond the Field
Even while balancing an NFL career, Stover stays committed to farm life. He spends hours mowing the property with large John Deere tractors and caring for 65 head of cattle. Farming isn’t a side hobby for him—it’s a lifestyle. In fact, he and his family once appeared in a 2022 promotional video for the Ohio Beef Council, showing the same grit and pride he brings to football.
Stover says farming fills him with joy in a way the gridiron cannot. He describes football as his “day job,” but farming as “one helluva passion.”

Before turning pro, Stover showcased his athletic range at Ohio State. He began his college career as a linebacker before transitioning to tight end, where he delivered 77 receptions, 912 yards, and 10 touchdowns over his final two seasons. In Houston, however, his career has gotten off to a slow start. As a rookie, Stover recorded 15 catches in 15 games. This season, a broken foot in Week 1 sidelined him until his recent return to practice. The Texans hope he can return to the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
