Buc Days have officially kicked off in Corpus Christi, providing visitors of all ages with a unique opportunity to learn about the origins of cows and dairy products. This year, the event introduces the Dairy Discovery Zone, a fun-filled educational activity at Treasure Island in the American Bank Center Arena.

The Dairy Discovery Zone uses engaging and interactive methods to educate children about dairy production. Participants can delve into the journey of milk through a digital game that explores milking and farming. Additionally, a robotic cow offers a hands-on experience demonstrating how to extract milk from dairy cows.
A Mission to Educate and Entertain
Darnecia Bennet, the Dairy Max Tour Manager, emphasized the dual purpose of the Dairy Discovery Zone. “The Dairy Discovery Zone is here to bring lots of fun,” Bennet said. However, the zone also carries a crucial educational message. “Our main goal is to be the voice of dairy farmers. Many people are disconnected from agriculture and do not know where their food comes from,” she explained. The initiative aims to bridge this gap by teaching visitors how food travels from farm to table.

For those interested in tactile experiences, Treasure Island also hosts a petting zoo where visitors can meet and interact with real-life cows. This feature adds an extra layer of engagement and helps visitors connect even more closely with the source of dairy products.
